The 2020 Liberty Sparks Essay Competition
The Liberty Sparks Essay competition was conceived after a successful evaluation of the policy framework (laws and regulations) in Africa. They inform of our need to advocate for more friendly policies that enable African people to engage in business. Factors such as the ease of doing business, bureaucracies when starting a business, difficulties in accessing capital, taxation among other policies greatly affect the success of businesses in Africa. The team at Liberty Sparks felt that there was a need to understand the view of the Young African people on how government policies affect the success of businesses, and essays are a great point to start. This essay should provide a great insight on the knowledge base that the African youth have towards the above subject and consequently help in shaping the approach to business environment policy reforms, laws and regulations in the various countries where the organisation operates. As such, the adopted essay theme is “Explain how business regulations are barriers to business and economic growth”.
The competition, therefore, requires that a writer:
- Expresses what comes into their minds when they conceive business regulations and the economy
- Bases their arguments on facts (References are an added advantage).
- Keeps the essay length between 500 and 3000 Words
